Lifespec is operated by Taylor Sloan (“Lifespec,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use Lifespec, including our iOS application, Android application, website, billing/account management website, and related services.

By using Lifespec, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly, information created through your use of Lifespec, and information collected automatically through our services and service providers.

Account Information

When you create or manage an account, we may collect:

  • Google sign-in information, if you choose to sign in with Google
  • Preferred name
  • Time zone
  • Account settings and preferences
  • Notification preferences
  • Billing/account status information

We do not intend to collect precise location information.

User Content

Lifespec is designed to help users create, manage, and evaluate personal systems. The information you choose to enter may include:

  • Systems
  • Specs or directives
  • Goals
  • Action items
  • Signals and check-ins
  • Notes and freeform text
  • User responses to recommendations
  • AI-generated recommendations, summaries, evaluations, and revisions
  • Other information you choose to provide while using the service

Because Lifespec allows freeform input, you may choose to enter personal or sensitive information, including information related to health, fitness, relationships, habits, routines, finances, beliefs, emotional state, or other personal matters. You should avoid entering information that you do not want processed by Lifespec or by the service providers we use to operate the product.

Media Uploads

Lifespec may allow media uploads in the future. If Lifespec allows media uploads, we may collect files you choose to upload, such as images, videos, audio, documents, or other files.

Payment and Billing Information

Payments are handled through Stripe or other payment processors we may use. We do not store your full credit card number or full payment card details on our own systems. Payment processors may collect payment card information, billing details, transaction history, and related information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

Communications

If you contact us, sign up for updates, or interact with support, we may collect:

  • Your name or preferred name
  • The contents of your message
  • Any information you choose to provide
  • Support history and related communications

We may also send transactional, product, onboarding, reminder, billing, account, security, and marketing emails. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails, but we may still send necessary transactional or account-related messages.

Lifespec may send push notifications and email notifications, including reminders, check-in prompts, action item reminders, account notices, billing notices, product updates, and other service-related messages.

You may control push notifications through your device settings and, where available, through Lifespec’s notification settings. You may also opt out of nonessential communications such as marketing emails.

Automatically Collected Information

When you use Lifespec, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Approximate location derived from IP address

4. AI Features and User Content

Lifespec uses or may use artificial intelligence features to help generate, evaluate, summarize, revise, or recommend systems, specs, goals, action items, signals, check-ins, and other user content.

To provide these features, Lifespec may send user-entered content and related context to third-party AI providers, including OpenAI/ChatGPT, Anthropic/Claude, or similar AI service providers.

Where practical, we may minimize, redact, or avoid sending directly identifying account information to AI providers. However, user content may still contain personal information or sensitive information that you choose to provide. You should not enter information into Lifespec that you do not want processed by AI systems or service providers.

Lifespec does not use your personal user content to train its own AI models unless we notify you and obtain any consent required by law. Third-party AI providers may process information according to their own terms, privacy policies, and data-processing commitments.

AI outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate, or not suitable for your specific situation. Lifespec is not a medical, mental health, legal, financial, or professional advisory service. You should not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional advice.

5. Service Providers

We use third-party service providers to operate and improve Lifespec. These providers may process information on our behalf.

Current or expected service providers include:

  • Supabase for authentication, database, backend services, logs, and potentially file storage
  • Stripe for billing and payment processing
  • Sentry for error monitoring, crash reporting, and diagnostics
  • Google Analytics for website analytics
  • Google Sign-In for authentication
  • Apple and Google platform services for app distribution, app metrics, diagnostics, and related platform functionality
  • OpenAI/ChatGPT, Anthropic/Claude, or similar AI service providers for AI-powered features, recommendations, summaries, evaluations, and related processing

We may add, remove, or change service providers as Lifespec evolves.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not plan to share your personal information except as necessary to operate, provide, maintain, secure, and improve Lifespec.

We may share information:

  • With service providers that help us operate Lifespec
  • With payment processors to process billing and subscriptions
  • With AI providers to provide AI-powered features
  • With analytics and diagnostics providers to understand and improve performance
  • With app platform providers such as Apple and Google
  • If required by law, subpoena, court order, legal process, or government request

We do not use third-party advertising networks to advertise based on your personal user content.

We may use Google Analytics or similar tools on the website. These tools may collect information such as pages visited, device and browser information, approximate location derived from IP address, referring pages, and interaction events.

You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some website functionality.

8. Marketing Communications

We may send you product updates, onboarding emails, feature announcements, reminders, and marketing communications.

You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us. Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send transactional or service-related messages, such as password reset emails, billing notices, security notices, account notices, and important updates about Lifespec.

9. Public or Shared Features

Lifespec may add sharing, templates, public systems, community, or collaboration features in the future.

If we add these features, information you choose to share may become visible to other users or to the public, depending on the feature and your settings. We will provide additional information or controls at the time those features are introduced.

For V1, Lifespec does not intend to make your private systems, specs, signals, notes, or action items public by default.

10. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide Lifespec, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain security, and support legitimate business purposes.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize personal information associated with your account within up to 90 days, unless we need to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, billing, tax, backup, dispute-resolution, or compliance purposes.

Some information may remain in backups for a limited period before being deleted according to our backup retention practices.

11. Account Deletion

You may request account deletion through Lifespec’s account management website at:

Where required by app platform rules, Lifespec will also provide an in-app path to initiate account deletion. This in-app flow may direct you to a secure account management page to complete the deletion request.

Deleting your account may permanently delete or anonymize your account information and user content, subject to the retention exceptions described in this Privacy Policy.

12. Data Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information.

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will be completely secure, and you use Lifespec at your own risk.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for restricting access to your devices.

13. Children and Minimum Age

Lifespec is intended for users who are at least 16 years old.

Lifespec is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

Lifespec is operated from the United States. We do not specifically target users outside the United States, but the service may be accessible to users in other countries.
